The Third Eye Chakra is related to us experiencing clear and concise thoughts, as well as connecting us with the higher functions of consciousness and spiritual reflection. It offers us the possibility of wisdom, discernment, intuition, and knowledge, as well as consciously staying connected with our spiritual home. It is the ‘gateway’ to ‘higher worlds’ which can be opened through meditation. (for more information on the chakra system in general see previous posts).
Much of the information below is from my book: Chakra Wisdom Workbook available here: Shop
The Saints and Spiritual Masters describe the third eye chakra (also called Anja Chakra, 10th gate, 6th chakra, brow chakra, tisra til) as a point in the subtle body, between and behind the two eyebrows where is found the seat of the mind and the soul in the human body, and the point at which the disciples of the Saints and Masters begin their concentration (i.e. meditation), and from where they go up to higher realms. While meditating at the third eye (and usually repeating a mantra), our scattered attention in this world, through our senses, is refocused at this point and we become unconscious of our body and conscious of other dimensions, and various sights will be seen and sounds will be heard.

In the stillness, I listen for the wisdom inside, and I am open to the spirituality
that is within and all around me.
I know that love is the creative force.
I meditate, welcome mystical truths, and I am open to seeking guidance
in my spiritual quests from a spiritual teacher, Master or Guru.

Wisdom and Discernment
I am open to understanding the spiritual truths that are behind the situations occurring in my life right now.
I offer my wisdom to assist others along their path.
I trust in a higher source to guide me, and others who ask for my guidance.
I practice discernment and listen deeply within for the truth.
I choose to respond (rather than react), to situations with clarity, courage, and conviction.
Intuitive Perception
I know that what my intuitive senses tell me are true!
I open myself to the truth that is within and around me and know that it is there for me to receive.
I practice developing my intuition and know that this is a major aspect of who I am.
In the stillness and silence of meditation and contemplation, I will experience and know the truth.
Imagination
I use my imagination in creating and pursuing my dreams and wishes.
I ask myself, “What do I want?”
My thoughts create my reality on the physical, mental, emotional,
and spiritual levels; I use this power to create harmonious
relationships between them all.
I imagine the life I would like to have, and I encourage my thoughts to be truthful,
wise, and discerning! In the quietness of meditation, I see and hear the truth.
Inner Knowing
I trust my inner knowing and I am at peace with myself.
I create more moments of stillness and silence, and I listen for the truth.
I am open to connecting with and listening to my gut and heartfelt
feelings and do not override them with mind logic.
I practice meditation, prayer, and contemplation.
Knowledge
I recognise that a great deal of knowledge and information comes to me, in the form of intuition, e.g., clairvoyance, clairaudience, and hypersensitive feelings.
I use my intellect, combined with intuition, to delve into circumstances from a philosophical and spiritual viewpoint.
I aim to understand the truth behind the situations that come my way, as this helps me to respond with wisdom.
I cultivate positive beliefs about life, myself, and others.
Mindfulness
I am aware of my thoughts and I ask myself, “Are they uplifting and
are they true?”
I do this because I know that my thoughts significantly affect my mental, emotional,
and physical health and because I know that my body believes everything I believe!
I am not in control of all the situations that come my way, and nor am I in control of what others do and say. However, I do have free will as to how I respond!
I choose to respond (rather than react) to all situations from an enlightened position.
