The premise that, “Contentment in Life will only be found inside Yourself, not outside!”, points to the fact that true contentment, will be found only when we acknowledge and get in touch with our divine or spiritual essence which resides within us rather than being separate or external to us. It implies that the search for God or a higher power should be directed inward, exploring our own consciousness, beliefs, and connection to the divine. One of the main ways of achieving this is through meditation instructed and guided by a Spiritual Teacher/Master.
Although I use the word ‘God’, we could easily insert the word, ‘Jesus’, Allah, ‘The Creator’, ‘Yahweh’, ‘The Divine’, ‘Jehovah’, ‘Lord’, ‘Monad’ or Satnam’.
You will witness the ‘workings’ of God outside yourself in nature etc, but the real perception of God will be your personal experience within with meditation!
The ideal starting point to achieve these insights is to meditate, focusing at the Third Eye chakra, (also called the Ajna Chara, Tenth gate, Single Eye or Tisra Til), which is located between the eyebrows. This meditation ideally uses a manta to help us focus at the Third Eye to quieten the mind from external/worldly thoughts.
Meditation serves as a tool for inner exploration or enlightenment. For the mystically inclined, meditation can is a “Portal” to the Divine, or, as Rumi would say: “A Window to God”. There is much more to meditation than stress reduction!
“The body is the only real temple of the Lord, and it is only within the body that we can gain real knowledge of him. we go and look for the Lord in mosques, temples and churches that we have built ourselves instead of looking for him in God’s own temple where he is himself ever present.” Maharaj Charan Singh – Sant Mat
“The body is the temple of the living God.” Saint Paul
“We keep our religious places neat and clean and do not even let a speck of dirt lie there, we refrain from doing anything bad and hesitate to utter an unworthy word there. But the place that the Lord has himself chosen to dwell is often quite dirty and unclean.”

“In the center behind and above the eyes there is an aperture; on this side of it is the material world, in which we are living now; and on the other side is the astral world.” — Huzur Baba Sawan Singh
Several key aspects of ‘finding God & Contentment inside’
- Inner exploration: lets engage in self-reflection, meditation, or other practices aimed at deepening our understanding of ourselves and our connection to the divine. The answers
and experiences related to spirituality lie within our own consciousness, waiting to be discovered!
- A personal relationship with the divine: Instead of seeking God solely through external sources, such as religious institutions, churches, mosques, temples and synagogues, the focus shifts to nurturing a personal and direct relationship with the divine. This perspective emphasizes the idea that we can experience and connect with the divine in our own unique way.
- Divine omnipresence: The premise highlights the concept of divine immanence, which suggests that the divine presence permeates all aspects of creation. It implies that God is not distant or separate from the world but rather intimately intertwined with it. Recognizing this immanence can foster a sense of interconnectedness and a deeper appreciation for the spiritual dimensions of everyday life.
- Guidance and intuition – inside: By looking inward, we can tap into our inner wisdom, intuition, and guidance. By connecting with the divine within ourselves we can access a source of profound insight and discernment. This inner guidance can assist us in making decisions, navigating challenges, and finding meaning and purpose in our lives.
- Transcending religious boundaries: While religious traditions and practices can provide valuable frameworks for spiritual growth, we aim to transcend rigid dogmas and limitations imposed by organized religion. Spirituality is not confined to any particular belief system but rather is a universal and personal experience that can be accessed by individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Empowerment and self-realization: God resides within each of us and it is empowering, as it emphasizes the inherent spiritual potential within us. It encourages us to recognize our own divinity and cultivate qualities such as love, compassion, and wisdom. This understanding can lead to personal transformation, self-realization, and the embodiment of spiritual values in daily life.
The premise that God is found only inside oneself promotes a shift in focus from external sources to inner exploration, emphasizing personal connection, divine immanence, inner guidance, transcending religious boundaries, and individual empowerment. It encourages us to embark on a profound journey of self-discovery, ultimately seeking to uncover and nurture our own divine essence.
In the end we may realise that we are God!
